Redwood: rare wood
Redwood (or mahogany) grows only in tropical forests. Trees of this type have red saturated color of the wood and a beautiful texture. On the cross-section, one can see light edges of annual rings, as well as large «veins». Mahogany is a soft wood that easy to work with. It is polished and quite easily absorbs varnish. This timber is a very long-lived material, resistant to erosion. Also, this wood is very well glued and even bends. The wood is used to cut complex and large parts.
Furniture and various mahogany products are considered luxury items. This wood is respected worldwide. Redwood is made of musical instruments, boxes, smoking pipes. Redwood is also used in shipbuilding. And mahogany furniture decorates the royal rooms.
